Van Wert Chamber of Commerce Youth Academy
The Van Wert Chamber of Commerce Youth Academy is a pilot program facilitated by the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce and program sponsor Northwest State Community College. Community partners Central Insurance, Lifehouse Church, and Alliance Automation will host the inaugural cohort of 24 students. The students have been selected from or four Van Wert County High Schools, Van Wert City Schools, Linclolnview Local Schools, Crestview Local Schools, and Vantage Career Center.
Goals
- To identify, develop and motivate student leaders.
- To expand the leadership potential of participants through:
- Educational programs designed to broaden their knowledge of Van Wert.
- Exposure to community leaders.
- To improve communication amongst leaders.
- To foster a life-long commitment to community service.
- To match potential candidates with community organizations where they can serve.
